Privacy policy
Taper: Quit Weed & Vaping · Effective October 11, 2026
The short version
Taper does not collect, upload, sell or share your data. There is no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
What stays on your phone
Your plan, logs, cravings, triggers, check-ins, notes and settings are saved only on your device, inside the app. They are never sent to us or anyone else. Tap “Reset my data” in Settings, or delete the app, to erase them.
Moving to a new phone
If you tap “Export backup” in Settings, Taper creates a file with your data and hands it to the iOS share sheet. It goes only where you choose to send it, such as AirDrop to your own new phone, and never to us. The file isn’t encrypted, so delete it once you’ve imported it.
Reminders
If you turn on notifications (morning plan, check-in, heads-ups, milestones), Taper writes them on your phone and iOS schedules them there. No server is involved.
Purchases
The optional subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details or Apple Account information. The app only asks Apple whether this Apple Account has an active subscription (or bought the earlier one-time unlock).
Third parties
Taper includes no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. Tapping a help-line number or text link opens your phone’s dialer or Messages app. Those services are run by their own providers.
Children
Taper is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page and shown in the app before it takes effect.
